Media Consultant

Mark Glaser is a media consultant and advisor based in Santa Fe with a focus on supporting local news in America.

He was the founder and executive director of MediaShift.org, including the EducationShift and MetricShift verticals, the weekly MediaShift Podcast, DigitalEd online trainings, DigitalEd Peer-to-Peer Network, and the MediaShift Studio content production studio. MediaShift also produced a series of social entrepreneurship events, the Women’s Hackathons and Journalism School Hackathons, helping college students learn how to create media startups in one weekend, and pitch them to judges.

He is a longtime freelance journalist whose career includes columns on hip-hop, reviews of video games, travel stories, and humor columns that poked fun at the titans of technology. From 2001 to 2005, he wrote a weekly column for USC Annenberg School of Communication’s Online Journalism Review. He has also served as an Editorial Advisor to Inkshares, Advisory Board of Miracle Messages, and as a mentor to startups at the Matter VC incubator.
