MuckRock Chief Editorial and Programs Officer Brandi Swicegood owns the organization’s portfolio of programs and products. She is responsible for earned revenue growth, driving memberships, services and new philanthropic opportunities and is focused on impact, sustainability and the innovation to meet future needs. She is a veteran investigative journalist and a co-founder and former executive director of Sunlight Research Center. She has worked for publications including The Texas Tribune, where she was a founding staffer, The Los Angeles Times, The Dallas Morning News and USA Today. 

MuckRock Service Design and Brand Strategist Chelsea Verrette supports newsroom partners through communication strategy and member engagement. She has more than a decade of experience in communication design, education and organizational development. Chelsea holds a Master of Science in Strategic Communication from Texas Christian University, where she is also pursuing a Ph.D. in Curriculum Studies focused on ethical and accessible communication. She works to build systems that connect purpose to practice across MuckRock’s collaborative reporting and research initiatives.

MuckRock Foundation is a nonprofit, collaborative news site that brings together journalists, researchers and the public to request, analyze and share government information, making politics more transparent and democracy more informed. The Sunlight Research Desk, a project of MuckRock, is a team of researchers and journalists that equips newsrooms to provide their communities fact-based, transparent investigative journalism that holds power to account.
