Ruby Jones

Ruby Jones is an award-winning journalist, communications strategist and President & CEO of Empower Media Exchange, a nonprofit strengthening Colorado’s local news ecosystem through community-powered storytelling, strategic narrative development and workforce training. She is the 2026 Local Media Association Rising Star Innovator of the Year and the author of “Collective Action through Collaborative Storytelling.”

She works at the intersection of media, philanthropy and civic engagement, helping organizations translate their impact into compelling, fundable narratives. Through EMX, she leads initiatives that support newsroom sustainability, including “Front Range Focus,” a local news platform designed to elevate community connection. She serves as Chair of the Colorado Women’s Chamber of Commerce Associate Board and sits on the Board of Directors for the Colorado Women’s Hall of Fame and Senior Housing Options, while advising organizations across the state.

Ruby’s work centers on advancing authentic storytelling, strengthening public trust, facilitating intergenerational co-creation and building sustainable models for local journalism.
