The Lenfest Institute’s News Philanthropy Network hosted a virtual conversation on corporate giving strategies with Johanna Derlega, the founder of Beech Strategies and previously the chief revenue officer of The 19th. 

Johanna has spent the past year reimagining The 19th’s corporate support strategy. She shared insights into her process and how she is using user-centered design strategies to create a product that meets the needs of the publication’s corporate supporters as well as The 19th. 

To help others pursue similar corporate giving strategies, Johanna has created the Corporate Giving Workbook, a step-by-step guide that empowers news fundraisers to utilize design thinking to create products that businesses will want to support.
