Hayley Slusser

Communications Associate

Hayley Slusser is The Lenfest Institute’s Communications Associate, where she helps develop the Institute’s editorial content and communications strategy. If you’ve ever read one of the Institute’s newsletters, you’ve probably seen her work — she writes and manages our general newsletter along with Solution Set and the News Philanthropy Network Newsletter.

She began her time at the Institute as a Communications Intern in September 2021. Prior to joining the Institute, she served as the Editor-in-Chief of The Daily Targum, Rutgers University’s independent student newspaper. In this position, she led the paper’s digital-first transition and co-authored an award-winning investigative series on the University’s pandemic finances.

Hayley is a lifelong New Jerseyan and graduated from Rutgers—New Brunswick in January 2022. Aside from saving local news, her passions include spoiling her two dogs, trying different local restaurants, and stanning BTS.
