Ida B. Wells Society Investigative Reporting Workshop
Sponsored by the Lenfest Institute and led by the society’s founders, this training will cover topics from pitching investigative projects to getting public records.

A program offering grants of up to $25,000 for a six-month project that builds community through local news. Grant recipients also have the opportunity to connect with industry experts to support their projects.

Next Generation Fund
The fund will provide awards to Philadelphia-area journalists and students of color to attend a professional conference of their choice.
Date: January 6-31, 2020
Next Generation Professional Advancement Seminars
A program for high-potential journalists of color to participate in monthly workshops surrounding professional development, mentorship, and peer-to-peer learning.

Next Generation Startup Accelerator
An accelerator for journalists of color that coaches on the various steps needed to build a media start-up. This program will culminate in a pitch event, after which participants will receive a grant toward their business.
