The session will draw on leading reports documenting transformative gifts focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion, including:
- The Giving USA 2021 Report
- Everyday Donors of Color, Diverse Philanthropy During Times of Change
Attendees will receive a comprehensive overview of the research and national trends in philanthropy, applicable to the context of fundraising for journalism. Attendees will also learn about the data and its application using best practices to benchmark, expand their donor base, and increase their fundraising totals.
The session will be led by Reshunda L. Mahone, the Assistant Dean for Advancement and Alumni Engagement at Emory University’s Goizueta Business School. She has more than two decades of fundraising and development experience with expertise in campaign fundraising, data analytics, leadership development, and operational optimization.
The Lenfest News Philanthropy Network is partnering with The Inclusion Firm, a national consulting practice focused on developing inclusive strategies for organizational change, to organize this workshop.
