The Lenfest News Philanthropy Network is a community of practice designed to support and build capacity for fundraising and development professionals in journalism. 

Participation in the Network is free, and open to publishers of all sizes and business models — nonprofit, for profit, legacy, start-up, digital, broadcast and print. Our singular and deep focus is on supporting and fostering a cohesive, collaborative, and growing cohort of development professionals who are serving a vital need for news organizations by creating contributed revenue streams.

Fundraising for Community Media

The News Philanthropy Network is partnering with the Center for Community Media at CUNY Newmark Graduate School of Journalism for the Fundraising for Community Media program. The tuition-free, online program will train teams from Asian, Black, and Latino newsrooms across the U.S. and its territories and freely associated states to develop business strategies and new revenue streams around fundraising. Applications are open from now through Monday, February 19 at 11:59 pm EST.

The Lenfest News Philanthropy Summit

This free, virtual, first-of-its-kind convening was launched in 2021 to cover topics that impact news organizations and their vital fundraising efforts.

The 2023 News Philanthropy Summit

The summit took place from Jan. 31-Feb. 1, and participants explored how we can transform the ways we sustain news organizations through philanthropic support, deeper relationship-building, and more.
